A lot has happened since their first show on the livingroom floor at a friends house 20 years ago. At that very moment Division of Laura Lee, the musical tornado from Gothenburg, Sweden set their standard. If you have had the pleasure to attend any of their 500+ shows you know what we are talking about.
In 2002 their critically acclaimed debut album â€Black City†(produced by Kalle Gustafsson), a smart, intense, darkly-tinged, atmospheric, and daringly experimental record infused with shades of D.C. rock like Fugazi and Nation of Ulysses, was released worldwide on Burning Heart/Epitaph. Tours followed with bands like …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Burning Brides, International Noise Conspiracy, Turbonegro to name a few, alongside appearances on The Late Late Show, the Mike Bullard Show, hosting MTV’s 120 Minutes and much more. Their follow up album "Das not Compute†was released three years later and showed a band that had learned to sharpen their hooks, making songs like "Does Compute" and "Dirty Love" sound simultaneously distinct, yet part of a larger whole.
Another 4 albums and 100.000+ sold copies later, this, the first song revealed since their last album â€Tree†(produced by Jason Lytle) is called "Hollow Pricks". Written in the same fashion as usual, just like they have been doing for the last twenty fast years. In 2003 Lovitt and Division of Laura Lee teamed up to release the compilation album â€97-99†with early singles and hard to find tunes. Now, fifteen years later, it is time to do it again. This just might be the first song from their new album.
